At A Shining Star Preschool, we value providing a program encompassing parents, families, and educators; knowledge, skills, and resources. Family involvement is an integral part of the everyday running of our early childcare center. As Early Childhood Professionals, we acknowledge the importance of time for children to explore and experiment, re-visit experiences, and develop awareness of their abilities. The curriculum that A Shining Star Preschool curriculum utilized in the classroom is The Creative Curriculum. It is based on developmental theory and developmentally appropriate practices. We recognize that children progress through sequential stages, scaffolding on previously learned skills to expand their knowledge of the world. Our program teaches children to think creatively so they may succeed in a complex and ever-changing world. Purposeful play is the most appropriate way to support each child's intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development.
